Reserve Space FAQs
Who is eligible to rent a space at RecWell?
Anyone may request to rent a space at RecWell. Student Groups, Departments, and other Community Groups hosting a practice, event, or other organized gathering must request a room rental.
How do I rent a space?
To request a RecWell facility reservation, please complete an interest form with the required information. This form should be submitted a minimum of ten business days prior to the event.
Can non-members access the facility for reservations?
If your rental includes outside community members without a RecWell membership, they can access the facility without paying for a guest pass. However, a list of non-members must be sent to the Assistant Director of events or events coordinator.
Will insurance be required?
University student groups and external rental groups are required to provide proof of insurance to their facility coordinator for any sport-related event or activity.
Insurance requirements include:
- All sports reservations need to provide a certificate of insurance of $1,000,000 General Liability
- MUST say "The Regents of the University of Minnesota are added as Additionally Insured" in the Description section of the Certificate of Liability Insurance
- It is also best if the Certificate Holder (typically at the bottom left-hand side of COI) lists University of Minnesota, Venue Address, City, State, and Zip
If your group or team does NOT already have an insurance certificate one can be purchased from Tulip Insurance.
- Typically costs between $200-450
- Insurance may be purchased through other vendors too, but please ensure they match the sample certificate exactly when purchasing plans.
