How do I register for class?

How to pre-register for group fitness classes:

  1. First, purchase a FitPass at shoprecwell.umn.edu or visit our front desk. They are available as full semester, half semester, and summer passes. 
  2. Registration is required to join a GFit class, so make sure to register any time before the class begins. 
  3. Click on the class you want to attend above. It will redirect you to shoprecwell.umn.edu.
  4. Sign in with your username or account login.
  5. Click the "Select" box with the date and time you want.
  6. Click "Register" at the bottom of the screen.
  7. If prompted, select which family member you'd like to register.
  8. Click "Checkout" on the screen, and "Checkout" again in the pop-up window. You will receive a confirmation e-mail.
  9. Arrive 5 minutes early for class and let the instructor know your name to check-in.
  10. Enjoy the class and repeat it in the future.

Something came up. How do I cancel my class registration?

How to cancel a pre-registration

We get it — things happen. If you cannot attend a class, we thank you for canceling your reservation and opening the spot for someone else. This also lets our instructors know how many participants to expect. 

  • Visit ShopRecWell and login.
  • Hover over your username in the upper right-hand corner and select "Profile".
  • Click the "Program Registrations" tab on the left side of the screen.
  • Find the class you can longer attend, click the three dots, and select "Cancel Registration".

What should I bring to a GFit class?

We encourage participants to:

  • bring a full water bottle
  • bring a sweat towel
  • wear clothes you're comfortable moving in

Our certified instructors will provide the guidance you need, and our facilities will provide all the fitness equipment you'll need. However, if you'd like to bring your own yoga mat, you are welcome to!

Are GFit classes hard?

Good question! Short answer: They are only as hard as you want them to be. 

At RecWell, the group fitness classes range in intensity depending on the class, however, all instructors are trained to offer modifications during class. If at any point you require a modification, please wave over your instructor they'll help you out. These modifications can help make an intense workout more accessible. 

For first timers, we'd recommend trying one of each class with a friend, starting with Yoga, and see what you like!
